Yin Yoga and Gentle Somatic Flow

This blended, beginner-friendly class begins with a mindful Yin sequence to open the body by stretching the fascia. Then we transition to a mindful Gentle Somatic Yoga Flow to release physical and mental tension. 

This class takes a whole-body approach to self-healing blending somatic movements and yin yoga. Each class will be designed to help relieve or dissolve persistent pain conditions, significantly improve flexibility and posture, and reduce or eliminate muscle stiffness while aiding in repatterning the brain-to-muscle connection for longer-lasting results. 

By participating regularly in somatic movement you will boost your overall health, vitality, and well-being while building a loving, compassionate, and trusting relationship with your body. Our sequence will close with a return to the ground for rest in restorative yoga.

Anna has over 20 years of experience and is a trauma-informed Yoga and Mindfulness Instructor who will gently guide you through the practice in a safe, non-judgmental space for you to fully get the benefits of the movement. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Mat and props are available at Redwood Studio, but feel free to bring your own mat, and/or blocks to use. Beginner friendly.

In this restorative yoga and gentle stretch class, your body will be allowed to release tension, lengthen muscles, and regain mobility.

Restorative yoga is a fully supported practice to release muscles gently with ease. Restore and Release will facilitate relaxation of your body naturally, helping to bring the mind to stillness and use the power of the breath to calm your nervous system.

When supported with props in this class the body can naturally release tension and stored-up toxins that can cause illness. Restorative yoga and mindful movement have been proven to help conditions such as insomnia, asthma, trauma, chronic pain, migraines, and depression.

Come in and take a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of busyness. Wear comfortable clothing that you can stretch in.

All props are provided, but feel free to bring your own mat, bolster, blocks, and/or strap if you like. Beginner friendly.

Restorative Sound Bath

A deeply relaxing and immersive experience where you're bathed in soothing sounds from crystal bowls. Designed to promote stress relief, and the inner peace that is created when we can fully step out of our stress response and partner with our parasympathetic nervous system to release tension.

During this sound bath we will integrate a few restorative postures at the beginning to release tension in the body, then you'll lie down comfortably while the instructor plays crystal singing bowls. These crystal bowls create a symphony of sounds that wash over you, promoting deep relaxation and a sense of calm. The pure tones and vibrations invite the mind into a relaxed, meditative state that can improve mood, ease physical tension, and “tune-up” your nervous system.

The sound waves coming from the singing bowls slow your brain waves to help you reach a deep meditative state. Sound healing is a non-invasive, ancient, and newly re-emerging holistic therapy used to treat physical, mental, and emotional dis-ease of all types. 

Treat yourself to this soothing, restorative offering. For an extra relaxing experience and retreat-like morning you may sign-up for the Restore and Release class held from 9:00 to 10:00. Whether you opt for both classes or only attend the Sound Bath you will leave the studio feeling restored and ready to relax for the weekend.

A little bit about Anna:

Anna has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. From a young age she sold lemonade at garage sales, raised money to go to Paris with her high school and opened her first business, a coffee cart in downtown Santa Fe, NM, at the age of 18. She became a serial entrepreneur running and owning multiple small businesses throughout her 20’s until she landed in one that not only aligned her interest in business but also fed her heart’s desire of making a difference. She began her Life Coaching business in 2005 which fed her aspirations to build a business and desire to support others. Though the path has been anything but straight, she now runs two businesses and loves supporting other entrepreneurs to find their success path both in life and in business.

Healing Trauma Through the Body: An 8-week Path to Women’s Somatic Well-Being

Join Anna with Intentional Living for an 8-week series designed to dissolve stress, release stored trauma and heal the body through the integrative practices of gentle somatic yoga, mindfulness, and breathing techniques. This series offers a compassionate and trauma-informed approach to well-being, creating a safe and nurturing environment for all participants to learn how to work with their own body and nervous system in order to naturally release stress held in the body.

During this 8-week series, you will:

  • Learn techniques to create a healthy nervous system and support your overall emotional well-being so you can navigate life with more ease.
  • Release stored stress, anxiety and trauma stored in the body to help increase your capacity to handle stress and any of life’s challenges.

  • Gentle Somatic Yoga: Experience a very gentle, somatic approach to yoga that emphasizes mindful movement, self-awareness, and inner healing. Suitable for all body types and skill levels. 
  • Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness practices that foster present-moment awareness, helping you connect with your inner self and reduce stress. Practice connecting to what you are feeling so you can accurately express what you are feeling and figure out what you need in each unique situation.

Through focused breathing, we can access and release deep-seated trauma held in the body, allowing for emotional release and long-lasting healing. Join us for an evening of deep relaxation and renewal in this soothing Candlelight Yin Yoga class. Move through a well balanced, all-levels Hatha Yoga practice that engages your whole body while calming your mind. In this class, you’ll flow through mindful sequences that stretch, energize and strengthen with options and modifications so you can practice at the level that feels right for you.

Writing to Heal: Free Community Offering

Join Melissa at the Redwood Business & Wellness Center Conference Room to write in a calm and accepting atmosphere.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, come share space, listen deeply, and write your way to healing with a reflective group where stories matter, voices are heard, and community is everything.

This group happens one Saturday a month. It is open to adults and is a free community offering. No sign-up is required, simply bring yourself and something to write on and with.
